One Day NSS Camp held at Govt. Bikram College of Commerce

The NSS Unit of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala under the directions of Punjab Govt. and guidance of College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata organized a ‘One Day NSS Camp’ in the college. Prof. Ram Kumar (NSS Program Officer) gave a lecture to the students about celebrating Green Diwali thus contributing in saving the environment from sound and air pollution.
A Rally ‘Saying No To Stubble Burning’ was flagged of by Dr. Vaneeta Rani. About 350 students participated in the rally that moved in the areas around the college. The NSS Unit along with Prof. Ram Kumar, Dr. Apra, Satinder Kaur, Dr. Harsimran Kaur and Geetanjali made a visit to village Kalyan (Distt. Patiala). The students created awareness among the people about the drawbacks of burning stubble. Jora Singh, Sarpanch of Village Kalyan and the villagers cooperated with the students and the staff.
