Patiala administration extended Craft Mela at Sheesh Mahal

In view of the massive response received during the ongoing Craft Mela at Patiala’s heritage building Sheesh Mahal, the district administration has extended it for another two days.
The number of viewers who have reached here has exceeded 2 lakhs. Bad weather condition, rain didn’t deter the residents of Patiala and its surrounding is to visit the craft mela. Due to the love to artist, craftsman shown by residents of Patiala the mela has been extended for two more days. Since it was raining during this craft mela but craftsman received good response and on residents demand the dates were extended.
More than 210 stalls of art and crafts have been established. Due to its huge success the crafts man were able to sell their products . The total sale till Saturday is over 2.25 crore rupees. Nodal Officer of the fair and Additional Deputy Commissioner Patiala Shaukat Ahmad Parare praised the love of residents of Patiala for these artisans and craftsman said that even in the rain people came to see the craft mela.
Even youngsters came to have a glimpse of craft of different states of India He also praised the efforts made by North Zone Cultural Centre in presenting the folk, dances of different states of India in the craft mela and entertaining the visitors.
