The Walk was organised to commemorate the 257 years of existence of the city of Patiala since the foundation stone was laid by the founder Baba Ala Singh on 12 February 1763.

The city has a rich heritage and cultural history and the walk took the participants through the various eras of the history related to each place. The participants reconnected to their forgotten heritage.

Ravee singh Ahluwalia led the walk and also involved the public, students and participants towards the larger cause of heritage conservation and sensitised them towards its preservation by developing a sense of belongingness towards the city. He stressed upon the need  to conserve and preserve the heritage against any defacement and damage caused in the name of senseless modernisation.
