In order to educate young children about basic road etiquettes and safety measures, road safety education classes are being conducted in YPS. These classes are held thrice a week and the programme will continue till the end of this session. A Road Safety Club has been formed for the same.

Ravi S Ahluwalia, Chief Functionary Patiala Foundation, sensitized the students about the importance of road safety. He provided an overall idea about principles of crossing roads, using seatbelts and helmet and other basic safety rules. The students were also told about the ‘Children Challan Book’.

“Every other day we find ourselves stuck in some hazardous traffic situations. The lack of following road safety guidelines has proven fatal for many. To bring a change in this scenario, we need to influence people to follow safety guidelines responsibly to avoid any more unfortunate incidents. It is also important to educate young children about road safety to bring a change in the society.” said, YPS Director, Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma, VSM, (Retd)
