Patiala gets new Deputy Commissioner for one day

Mahfuja joined as One-day Deputy Commissioner of Patiala today.

Mahfuja, a student of class 10 of Government Smart School, Model Town, Patiala, shared her dream to become an IAS officer with the chief minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann during the recently held parent-teacher meeting.

Inspired with her aspiration, chief minister directed the Patiala deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney to make her aware about the administrative work and to encourage the students of government schools to join the civil services.

Immediately, after the parent-teacher meeting, the deputy commissioner of  Patiala asked the school principal to send the child to her office so that the student can get inspiration to move forward in life and make her dreams come true.

Today, Mahfuja came to the mini sect., Patiala and joined as deputy commissioner, Patiala in the presence of her father, school Principal and teachers.

Sakshi Sawhney gave brief introduction about the working of a deputy commissioner. Later, Ms Sakshi called additional deputy commissioner and  SDMs to her office. Under training, IAS Akshita also joined the meeting. ADC (General)and SDM gave brief details of their departments working.

Both Sakshi Sawhney and Akshita gave tips to Mahfuja on  how to crack civil services.

Patiala gets new Deputy Commissioner for one day

Later on,  deputy commissioner Mahfuja , a student of Government Smart School, Model Town, Patiala held a meeting with various departments and inspected the record room.

She also met the senior superintendent of police (SSP), Varun Sharma, IPS.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that “she is motivated & inspired to become IAS/IPS. Now this program #I_Aspire_Leadership is open for all schools students from 8th to 12th classes. Applications can be given by schools depending on role model. Mahfuza attended meeting on stubble burning, saw revenue records of her village.

The student’s father Makhan Khan, a resident of Inderpura, thanked the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Deputy Commissioner along with the Punjab government for this inspirational initiative.
