Patiala Heritage Festival inaugurated with colorful note
Patiala Heritage Festival is back, after a gap of 12 years. Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, cabinet Minister Punjab is the Chief Guest at the inaugural function of Patiala Heritage Festival. He along with Preneet Kaur, wife of Chief Minister Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh inaugurated the Patiala Heritage Festival at Qila Mubarak with munch fain fair, by lighting the torch at Qila Mubarak.
Dharmsot said Patiala Heritage Festival is back after a gap of 12 years. It was Capt Amarinder Singh govt. that started Heritage Festivals in the year 2003 and celebrated Patiala Heritage festival every year, till the SAD-BJP govt. came into power. The opposition stopped celebrating Patiala Heritage Festival.
Now once again Capt. Amarinder Singh govt. has come into power and Patiala Heritage Festival is also back. Capt. Amarinder Singh is very serious about the preservation of our heritage, our culture. That’s why the govt has planned similar Heritage Festivals at heritage rich Amritsar, Kapurthala and Bathinda.
Dharmsot also said that Punjab Govt.has also planned a Shahi Circuit comprising Patiala, Nabha, Sangrur, Kapurthala, Faridkot. Punjab Govt. in collaboration with its Cultural Affairs department, district administration and Indian trust for Rural Heritage and Development is organizing Patiala Heritage Festival 2018.
A team of PAP jawans of horses lead the march that passes through the walled city from qila chowk to adalat bazaar to dharmpura bazaar to tawakli mour to sheranwala gate to fountaion chowk to thikriwala chowk to yps chowk to gurudwara moti bagh chowk to municipal corporation office to mohindra college chowk and cumulated at NIS chowk. Behind these horse riders, Punjabi Singer Amy Virk, International Wrestler Palwinder Cheema, Punjabi Singer Pammi Bai traveled in open jeep, a van with soldiers dressed up in Jang-e-saragrahi dress, govt college for girls students in a trolley passed thru the city in a convoy.
