Patiala’s renowned private schools get bomb threat email

In the morning Patiala a renowned private school, Ryan International School situated in Urban Estate has received bomb threats via email, spreading panic among the residents residing near the vicinity of the school, concerned authorities and parents.
As per available information, later some other schools-Bhupindra International Public School (BIPS), Scholar Fields Public School, DAV School, Career Academy etc have also received threatening emails. These educational institutes have received these threatening emails at different times.
Patiala Police officials confirmed that many teams, including anti-sabotage teams, have been pressed into service, but nothing has been found in the school premises as of now.
Meanwhile the SHO Urban Estate, Patiala Gurpreet Samrao said that “ the police station has received a call from the school that they have received a threat email at 7:09 am in the morning to blow school with bomb. Acting swiftly, the police teams reached the school premises and thoroughly checked it from all sides. Even anti-sabotage teams were also called for checking. The school staff is also briefed and asked them to remain vigilant, alert. We have also checked the CCTV cameras and nothing suspicious item is found”. He further added that “while ensuring the security, we have appealed to all not to panic”.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Patiala Varun Sharma will address the media in the afternoon on this issue.
Earlier this month several schools in Amritsar, Jalandhar had received these kinds of threat emails.
