Pb Govt order the temp. suspension of Internet Services
Punjab Govt order the temporary suspension of all the Internet Services to maintain Public harmony. To control the public, private, property and widespread disturbances to public tranquility and communal harmony, as a result of inflammatory material and false rumors, which are being / could be transmited/ circulated to the public through social media/ messaging services on mobile internet services (2G/ 3G/ 4G/ CDMA), all SMS services and all dongle services were suspended. These orders shall be in force from 1st April 2018 5: PM to 2nd April 2018 11:00 PM.
The order came in context with the bandh call on 2 April by some SC/ST organizations in Punjab. Intelligence agencies of the Government of Punjab have hinted towards a situation where data services could be grossly misused by certain unscrupulous elements.
