Pbi Uni CSE department organizes national seminar on Role of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture

Today on 12th August,2022 Computer Science and Engineering department, Punjabi university, Patiala organized One day National Seminar on “Role of Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Modern Age Agriculture”.
Chief Patron of the seminar Dr. Arvind presided the programme. Dr. Raman Maini, HOD, Department of CSE discussed about the usage of Artificial Intelligence in the field of agriculture. He said after the seminar models will be designed by the faculty & researchers by taking the knowledge from this seminar, that will benefit the actual end users (farmers).
The Convener of the Seminar Dr. Sikander Singh Cheema suggested the use of these seminars can be helpful for the farmers. The outcomes of these agriculture based seminars can lead to technologies that can be used by the farmers in day today life for increasing crop production. Dr. Rajiv Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar joined the seminar as Keynote Speaker and discussed the importance of technology and various opportunities of research available for the students and research scholars in the field of technologies used for agriculture.
He also gave his viewpoint on using less amount of water for growing crops and gain much more benefits. Dr. NeerajGoel ,Assistant Professor, IIT Ropar and Mukesh Kumar Saini, Assistant Professor,IIT Ropar joined the seminar as Resource Persons and gave knowledge of technologies based on artificial intelligence used in the field of agriculture to the students.

The guests were welcomed by seminar coordinator Er. Navneet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, Punjabi University and Vote of Thanks was given by Seminar Coordinator Er. Lal Chand, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, Punjabi University, Patiala.
