    PM Modi submitted his resignation paving way for the formation of 18th lok sabha

    Today, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Cabinet have submitted their resignation to President of India Droupadi Murmu.

    In a press communique’ the President of India said “The Prime Minister,  Narendra Modi, met the President today and tendered his resignation along with the Council of Ministers.The President has accepted the resignation and requested  Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers to continue till the new Government assumes office.”

    The President accepted their resignations and requested the Prime Minister and his team to continue in office till the new Government is formed. . The term of the current 17th Lok Sabha ends on June 16.

    As per available information, on Tuesday the BJP leadership met at party president JP Nadda’s residence and latter the Union Cabinet met at the Prime Minister’s residence on Wednesday morning. It has recommended the dissolution of the 17th Lok Sabha, sources said.

    PM Modi submitted his resignation paving way for the formation of 18th lok sabha. The NDA, meanwhile, got 293 seats in the 543-member House and the INDIA bloc together won 233 seats. The BJP, which secured 240 seats, had fallen short of the halfway mark for the first time since 2014, and is dependent on its allies for government formation.
