Police DAV public school Patiala celebrated virtual Independence Day

15 August is a red letter day for every Indian. People of India feel free to express their feelings towards their country and cherish their freedom on this day.This day is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. To mark it’s importance, Police DAV Public School Patiala organises a special function every year.
Due to Covid 19, this year a virtual assembly was held by the school wherein the students and teachers participated. The meeting was presided over by the school principal MeenaThapar. The function commenced by seeking the blessings of the Almighty by enchanting a bhajan and school prayer. Then Balkaran Singh of class 10 and Tejvir Kaur delivered speeches highlighting the importance of the day. English Poems related to patriotism were recited by Samreet Kaur and Harmeen Kaur of class 6. Anmoldeep Kaur of class 7 and Sachidanand of class 5 recited the Hindi poem that inspired the students. The school choir then sung the national song and patriotic songs that made every one proud and mesmerized.
On this occasion, MeenaThapar applauded the efforts of the students and the staff for organising the virtual function during these tough times. She inspired them to believe in humanity, compassion and selfless service of mankind. She also added that this freedom is valuable and children should understand it’s importance. They should obey their elders and learn from their experiences.
She also expressed that to mark this 74rd Independence day an inter school Quiz Competition was also held wherein students of classes 6 to 10 participated. She expressed her thanks to the students for giving an overwhelming response to the quiz. Around 500 students from Punjab,Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh enrolled themselves for the quiz.
They were awarded E Certificates. She greeted everyone and the meeting ended on an inspiring note.
