The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) “Vishesh Sewa Camp,” organized under the leadership of Rupnagar District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura at Lalpur village, faced strong resistance today as a heavy police force equipped with lathis was deployed to stop the event. The camp was inaugurated by Punjab BJP Vice President Fatehjung Singh Bajwa. However, as soon as the program began, police prevented BJP leaders and workers from holding the camp, leading to chaos and loud sloganeering.

Speaking to the media, Bajwa strongly condemned the police action and launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, saying,“The Bhagwant Mann government has completely failed to deliver basic services to the people of Punjab. They have been unable to implement central government welfare schemes effectively. That is why BJP started these special service camps — to educate people and help them avail benefits of schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana, e-Shram Card, and Vishwakarma Yojana.”

Bajwa criticized AAP leaders for focusing on propaganda rather than governance, adding, “If the Punjab government had fulfilled its duties properly, there would have been no need for BJP to organize such camps. Bhagwant Mann is busy making announcements, while on the ground, the people are suffering.”

Bajwa also lashed out at AAP’s top leadership, referring to Manish Sisodia’s controversial “Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed” remarks: “This is Punjab, and we are Punjabis. We will not allow any external agenda to disturb the peace, law, and order of our state. Kejriwal and his associates must stop playing with Punjab’s stability, or the people will teach them a lesson.”

Calling CM Bhagwant Mann a mere “puppet of Arvind Kejriwal,” Bajwa alleged that Mann was working to serve Delhi’s political interests rather than those of Punjab.

District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura also attacked AAP over its “Tuhade Hakka Lei Muheem” (“Campaign for Your Rights”), demanding an investigation into what he called the illegal collection of citizens’ personal data. Lalpura alleged that since March 2025, AAP MLAs had been gathering Aadhaar numbers, bank account details, and other sensitive personal information without notifying district administrations.

“While BJP’s ‘BJP de Sewadar Aa Gaye Ne Tuhade Dwar’ campaign is fully legal and only shares central schemes’ information with the consent of the people, AAP MLAs are secretly collecting private data on a large scale. If AAP truly believes data sharing is risky, why don’t they first take action against their own MLAs?” Lalpura said.

He warned that if no strict action is taken on the issue, BJP will be forced to approach the Punjab Governor and even move the Punjab & Haryana High Court.

During the protest, several BJP leaders and workers, including Varinder Rana, Kuljinder Singh Lalpura, Naveen Kumar, Advocate Amanpreet Kabrawal, Omkar Singh Abhiana, Roshan Lal Tedwal, Jassi Roore Majra, and Jagdish Chander Kajla, were detained by police at Haripur Chowki.
