Power Junior Engineers suspended agitation; handed over first installment towards CM Relief Fund

Council of Junior Engineers has decided to suspend its ongoing agitation following assurance given by Power Minister, Punjab to the Council leadership during a meeting held between Power Minister & JEs Council at PSTCL Guest House, Mohali on 21st Nov. 2023. This was informed to the press by Er. Davinder Singh, State General Secretary, Council of JEs PSEB.
Meanwhile, Er. Paramjit Singh Khattra State President and Er. Davinder Singh- State General Secretary of JEs Council jointly stated that during the meeting between Power Minister, Punjab & representative of JEs Council, wherein, Principal Secretary/Power GOP & CMD/PSPCL were also present, detailed deliberation were held on the initial Pay issue of Power Junior Engineers. The Power Minister assured that initial Pay issue will be taken up with Finance Minister Punjab & will be resolved within a week’s time: Thereafter, an appeal was made to JEs Council to suspended its 24 hrs. chain hunger strike programme.
Considering the appeal of Power Minister & CMD PSPCL, JEs Council decided to suspend its ongoing agitation from today itself. In this context, Director/DS PSPCL offered a glass of juice to the Power Junior Engineers sitting on hunger strike in front of H.O. Patiala and ended their chain hunger strike.
Power Junior Engineers suspended agitation; handed over first installment towards CM Relief Fund by JEs Council.They handed over a cheque amounting 7.62 Lac towards their 1st installment towards Punjab Chief Minister Relief Fund for flood victims of the Punjab state.
A detailed representation regarding the merger of PSPCL & PSTCL was also submitted. The Power Minister assured to examine it at appropriate level. JEs Council also conveyed its serious concern regarding victimization of JEs on the bogus public complaints and demanded an end to these types of victimization. The Minister assured that an inquiry will be conducted before taking action against any employee & Officer.
