PPS officer posted at Haryana border, dies-DGP

Punjab police director general of police (DGP) has shared tragic news of the demise of Dilpreet Singh Shergill a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) posted at Khanauri ,on Punjab-Haryana border
“Yesterday, we lost our braveheart DSP Dilpreet Singh who was performing duty at Khanori Border, Sangrur Dilpreet served Punjab Police and the people of Punjab for over 31 years We stand by his family in their hour of grief and will do everything to support them. Our prayers are with his family and close ones. Our heartfelt condolences. RIP!” said DGP Gaurav Yadav in his tweet.
As per SSP Malerkotla, Harkamalpreet Singh Khak, Dilpreet Singh Shergill was recently transferred from Ludhiana to Malerkotla district. He was deputed at Khanauri border by the department. Yesterday after performing his duty he left for Ludhiana where his family resides.He was an avid sportsperson and fitness freak. He used to work out daily at Gym. In the morning he had a cardiac arrest at Gym. The Gym trainer immediately shifted him to hospital, where the doctors declared him bought dead”
Diplreet Singh Shergill was inducted as ASI in 1992 in Punjab police. He was an avid swimmer and was inducted in Punjab police in sports category. He left behind his wife and a small daughter.
