PSPCL employees show odium over its management decision

Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) employees has raised their objection over the constitution of Wage Formulation Committee (WFC), by the management of the powercom, a long pending demand of its employees .
The employees has shown their resentment to the management and wrote a letter to the CMD, PSPCL and raised their objection. They requested the CMD to look into the PSPCL Circular No 05/2021 dated 19ll/2021 issued by Dy. Secy Fin-1, in reference to the constitution of Wage Formulation Committee (WFC),in which no employee representative was included in the committee. They pointed out that “though PSPCL has included representatives of Power Department and Finance Department of Punjab Government in the WFC but unlike previous practice, has not included representative of Employees including PSEB Engineers’ Association in the Wage Formulation Committee.”
The spokesperson of the PSEB Engineers Association said “this is a serious deviation from the past practice and is likely to cause negativity and delay the implementation of new pay scales. Therefore, we requested to amend this office order and Reconstitute the Wage Formulation Committee to include the representatives of employees including PSEB Engineers’ Association in the WFC and any member outside PSPCL should not be included as they may not have any idea regarding PSPCL working and may not be able to contribute in the WFC to justify their inclusion in the committee.”
Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) had formed a 9-member Wage Formulation Committee (WFC), under the chairmanship of Director Administration, to sort out the anomalies in the pay structure of its employees, on July 19,2021. On this PSPCL employees show odium over its management decision.
When contacted PSPCL Director Administration , RP Pandove, who is the chairman of the Wage Formulation Committee said ” the board has made the WFC. It’s a board decision. But we will look into the objection raised by the employees. We will discuss their issue with the CMD and will definitely sort it out. After all its for the benefit of the employees.”
“While issuing the orders of Wage Formulation Committee, the Powercom did a blunder. They issue the orders under “Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB)” heading. PSEB was bifurcated into two corporations (PSPCL and PSTCL) in the 2010.But after 11 years, the orders were issued under PSEB heading. This is something fishy” said an administrative employee of the powercom.
