PSPCL sports persons gets rousing welcome

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer services and promoting employee welfare through its relentless efforts under the visionary leadership of Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO.
These initiatives have recently borne fruit as PSPCL’s sport wing lifted up the winner’s trophy at the 45th All India Electricity Sports Control Board Hockey Tournament 2023-24 and bagged the second position in the 45th All India Electricity Sports Control Board Tug of War Tournament 2023-24, both of which were held under the auspices of the Haryana Power Sports Group in Panchkula.
Today, In recognition of these remarkable achievements, Jasbir Singh Sur Singh, Director Admin, PSPCL, lauded the victorious teams in hockey and tug of war. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to both teams for their outstanding performances, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering team spirit, physical fitness, and a sense of camaraderie among employees.
Sharing the details, Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sur Singh informed that in Hockey, PSPCL team had defeated Haryana in the finals by 3-1. From PSPCL, Manvir Singh, Parminder Singh and Ravinder Singh scored one goal each. Prior to finals, the PSPCL team had won over Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Uttarakhand. Director Admin congratulated the team including captain Harpreet Singh, coach Ravinder Singh and manager Parvinder Singh Toor.
In Tug of war, PSPCL team defeated Telangana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand in league matches and then clinched victory over BBMB in the Semi Finals but lost to Haryana in Finals and bagged second position.
Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sur Singh said that the triumph in these national-level tournaments not only reflects the dedication and sporting prowess of PSPCL’s employees but also underscores the organization’s commitment to promoting sports among its workforce. This dual victory serves as a testament to the corporation’s multifaceted approach, combining exceptional customer service with an unwavering focus on the well-being and sporting endeavors of its employees.

Two sports ground proposed for PSPCL Sports wing – Director Admin
Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sur Singh said that in order to further improve the performances of teams and for fitness of the employees, a gym is already under construction in Patiala. Besides, Two sports grounds, one each in Patiala and Amritsar, have been proposed.
He directed the PSPCL sports wing employees to practice and exercise daily for two hours in the grounds, located near to offices where they are posted. He also asked them to share daily activities on Whatsapp. He also asked the sports wing employees that along with practicing, train the youngsters of nearby villages as sports not only help in keeping one fit but will also help in keeping youngsters away from drugs.
