Punjab gets youngest DIPR

In the history of Punjab’s public relations department, Akshita Gupta name has been recorded as the youngest ever director, information and public relations.
Today, Punjab government has appointed Akshita Gupta as director information and public relations (DIPR).

She became the youngest ever DIPR to hold this prestigious post. Normally a senior ranked bureaucrat holds the charge of DIPR as its one of the key posts of state government as public relations (PR) department is to manage the flow of information between the government and the public, building and maintaining mutual understanding and a positive image of government activities, policies, and accomplishments.
She is 2021 batch IAS officer. She had done MBBS in 2015 from GMCH, Chandigarh before clearing her civil services exams.
Akshita hails from Chandigarh, Haryana, and achieved the prestigious All India Rank 69 in her first attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Exam.

She joined Patiala as assistant commissioner (Under Training) in August 2022. She served as the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab till March 2025. She is presently working as Commissioner, municipal corporation, Phagwara.
Both her father Pawan Gupta and her mother Meena Gupta are academicians. She celebrates her birthday on 14th October .
