Punjab government fixes “Day-Boarding School” timings

Punjab government has issued orders fixing the timings of ‘Day Boarding Schools’ in Punjab.
As per the orders, now the day boarding schools will open for 8 hours in a day as compare to longer hours.
The schools are instructed to choose any timings from 7:30-3;30 pm, 8:00-4:00 pm and 8:30-4:30 pm slot , plan their time table and submit the same to the concerned DEO of their district.
Additional secretary, Punjab school education department has asked all the district education officers, senior secondary and elementary to implement the orders in their districts and submit the action report at the earliest.
Day boarding schools offer extended school hours with meals and activities, but students do not stay overnight, differentiating them from traditional boarding schools. These schools provide a structured environment with academic support, extracurricular activities, and meals, extending the school day beyond typical hours.
