Punjab police started exercise on an eight hour shift module for its force

Punjab Police has started looking to implement Punjab Director General of Police (DGP’s) Dinkar Gupta New Year gift to the 80,000 strong police force “the personnel would be deployed on an eight-hour shift and given weekly off on a regular basis”.

Commandant of 80th Battalion of Punjab Armed Police at Jalandhar has demanded the records along with suggestions, of police personnel who were working more than eight hours per day, from its company and company commanders.

Punjab police started exercise on an eight hour shift module for its force and in this quest a the commandant has issued a letter on January 3, 2020 to its company and company commanders and asked them to compile the detail information in a format about:

  1. For how many hours a gunman is doing his duty?
  2. For how many hours a guard is doing his duty?
  3. For how many hours an employee is doing his duty to maintain law and order?
  4. For how many hours a person deployed as ARP/SDRF is doing his duty?
  5. For how many hours employees deployed at PAP Jalandhar are performing their duty?
  6. For how many hours a driver is doing his duty?
  7. For how many hours an employee deputed on UAV duty is doing his duty?
  8. For how many hours an employee deputed in office duty is doing his duty?
