Punjabi University CSE Department Develops Data Collection Software for Accreditation Needs

In a remarkable display of innovation Punjabi University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering has developed a software solution to streamline the process of data collection for accreditation and institutional quality processes.

In a In a press communique the authorities said “The software was engineered by B. Tech. student Hitashu under the mentorship of Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Assistant Professor Punjabi University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)”

The software was inaugurated by Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Head of the Department, who expressed deep appreciation for this initiative, calling it “a commendable contribution to the university’s academic and administrative efficiency.” He highlighted that such efforts reflect the department’s commitment to encouraging innovation and practical problem-solving among students which is highly demanded by the IT industry.

He further added, “This software not only automates complex data processes for Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) , National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) , and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NIRF) but also demonstrates how our students can directly impact institutional growth through technology. This project is a shining example of student-driven excellence.”

Dr. Gaurav Gupta added that, “The software is designed to automate the collection and compilation of research related data of the department’s faculty in a secure and organized manner. It will significantly reduce manual effort, time taken and errors in compiling and validating crucial data, a task that is performed by the department periodically for various accreditation purposes.”

Also present on the occasion were faculty members Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Dr. Brahmaleen Sidhu and departmental nodal officer (NAAC) Dr. Gurjit Singh Bhathal, who lauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of student-led innovations in strengthening the university’s administrative and academic ecosystem.
