Punjabi University honors representatives of company donating items to hostels; VC appeals well-wishers to come forward

The representatives and officials of ‘Verbac Animal Health Pvt. Ltd’ a company that donated various essential items on a large scale to the hostels of Punjabi University, were specially honored at the university today. Through its CSR initiative, the company provided fans, geysers, exhaust fans, water coolers, and water purifiers to the university hostels. In a special felicitation ceremony organized by the office of Dean Students Welfare, the company’s team, led by Vice-President Raman Talwar, was honored by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh. Dr. Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhary, a retired Deputy Director from the Punjab Government’s Animal Husbandry Department, who played a key role in facilitating this assistance, was also honored.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh expressed special gratitude to the company for this initiative. He stated that the support provided by the company has proven to be highly significant in fulfilling the basic needs of hostel students. He emphasized that such assistance is even more meaningful given the university’s financial constraints. He also appealed to other corporate entities and well-wishers of the university to come forward with similar support.

The company’s Vice-President, Raman Talwar, assured that they would continue their support to Punjabi University in the future. He also offered to organize ‘placement drives’ to provide job opportunities to university students, a proposal that was appreciated and accepted by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh.

Dr. Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhary shared how his visit to the university to arrange hostel accommodation for his daughter led him to learn about the condition of the hostels and their needs. He explained that Hostel Warden Labh Kaur and Dr. Naina Sharma encouraged him to arrange such assistance, prompting him to coordinate with the company to make this possible.

Dean, Academic Affairs Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani delivered the vote of thanks, while Dean of Students’ Welfare Prof. Monica Chawla presented the welcome address. The event was conducted by Provost Prof. Inderjit Singh Chahal.
