Punjabi university teachers association (PUTA) is seems to be in no mood to accept the new appointments made by the vice chancellor Punjabi University, Ravneet Kaur, a senior IAS officer, for the smooth functioning of the university. Punjabi University VC is trying to diffuse the tension between the university administration-PUTA and Class A,B,C association.

Punjabi university vice chancellor has appointed Prof Varinder Kumar Kaushik as registrar and senior most faculty of the university Prof Pushpinder Singh Gill as the dean academic affairs, after the mass resignation tendered by the university teaching faculty, in protest. But PUTA out rightly rejected their appointments.

Today, PUTA has forwarded a letter to VP Singh Badnore, Punjab Governor and Chancellor of the university, requesting his immediate intervention to restore the dignity of Punjabi University teaching fraternity and requesting him to declare the new appointment as null and void and revoked with immediate effect.
