Let me know if you want a different tone or format! Member of Parliament from Punjab, Rajinder Gupta (Rajya Sabha), today called on Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, in New Delhi. The meeting focused on key road infrastructure concerns and connectivity-related issues affecting the State of Punjab.
During the meeting, Gadkari informed that the Delhi–Katra Expressway is already connected up to Khanauri in Punjab.
Gupta expressed concern over the delay in linking the Bhawanigarh and Malerkotla entry and exit points to the Expressway, even though the connecting work with Sangrur and Malerkotla districts is near completion.
Responding to this, Gadkari assured that he would personally visit Punjab along with Gupta to review the site. He further committed that the Malerkotla access will be made fully operational by the end of March 2026, and the remaining work will be completed within the following three months.

Gadkari noted that once completed, this connectivity will significantly benefit lakhs of commuters by substantially reducing travel time and transportation costs in the region.
Gupta thanked Gadkari for his positive response and his supportive, development-oriented approach toward strengthening Punjab’s road infrastructure.
