Rana KP Singh appointed chairman of screening committee of Congress for various states

With the beginning of election year, Congress on Friday announced five screening committees to oversee the party’s preparedness for the 2024 elections.
The States have been divided into five clusters and the screening committee for each of the cluster will have one senior congress leader as the chairman and two other members. It will also have the State president and the Congress Legislature Party leader as members.
From Punjab the congress high command has appointed former Punjab assembly speaker and senior Congress leader Rana KP Singh as chairman of screening committee of Congress for various states for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
As per the press release issued by the All India Congress committee general secretary KC Venugopal, Rana KP Singh will be the chairman of the cluster-5 screening committee comprising states of Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.
Another Punjab congress leader and Olympian Pargat Singh is also made member of another cluster. Pargat Singh is a member of the cluster-3 screening committee comprising Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Daman & Diu, Dadra and Nagar haveli.
It may be mentioned that a three time MLA Rana KP Singh is a senior Congress leader of Punjab. He had represented Nangal and Anandpur Sahib assembly constituencies as MLA and remained speaker of Punjab assembly during the previous Congress government in Punjab.
Rana KP Singh appointed chairman of screening committee of Congress for various states. The appointment of Rana KP Singh has raised his stature at the national level. He thanked All India Congress committee, President Mallikarjun Kharge, former presidents, Sonia, Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for his appointment and assured that he would work dedicatedly on his new assignment.
