First sitting minister arrested by ED in Punjab

As per reports, the ED has arrested the sitting Punjab cabinet minister Sanjeev Arora in FEMA,PMLA cases.
Along with him his son is also arrested after hour search operations at his official residence in Chandigarh in sector 2
Today ED has raided Arora, a Punjab’s Power, Industries, Investment Promotion and Local Government premises for third time.
ED officials had reached Arora’s Chandigarh residence in the early hours of Saturday morning. Around 20 ED officials arrived in eight vehicles. Arora was at his official residence in Chandigarh at the time, and since then, speculations have been rife that the law enforcement agency may take some major action against him.This was the third search conducted on the AAP leader, with another search operation having taken place less than a month ago.
Arora is considered one of the most powerful ministers in the Bhagwant Mann Cabinet and is widely seen as the key link between the AAP government and the state’s industrialists.

“ED had detected a case of large scale money laundering done by Sanjeev Arora through his company in fake GST purchases of mobile phones of more than Rs 100 crore and subsequent exports to round trip illegitimate funds from Dubai to India. Multiple fake GST purchase bills have bene obtained from non existing firms in Delhi to claim fake ITC and Also refund of GST on export credit and also duty draw back , there causing loss to exchequer and personal enrichment,” said the official in ED.
