Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi , Member Parliament Patiala today slammed, both the SAD and congress for playing rally-rally game, by organizing parallel rallies at Patiala and Lambi and termed it as ploy to put on the backburner, the issue of punishing the culprits of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and those responsible for killing and committing  atrocious crimes against peacefully protesting Sikh devotees at Kotkapura and BehbalKalan demanding prompt and stringent action against the culprits of all these a events.

“Why a party running a government should hold a rally when it is tasked with taking action on culprits and improving law and order?” Patiala MP quipped. He asked Captain Amrinder Singh,” Shall the holding of Lambi rally, punish the culprits and soothe the mental agony the people of Punjab are going through?” The people of Punjab has now seen through the trick of governments delaying justice through commissions and courts; Dr. Gandhi added.

This rally-rally game of both these parties is meant to supersede the crisis of the failures, the misdeeds and misrule of ten years of Akali-BJP regime on one hand, and nearly two years of failure of present congress government by a fixed match confrontation between them, Patiala law maker said.

Stating that these rallies shall aggravate tensions in the minds of people, Dr. Gandhi warned both these parties to stop this political gimmickry and be-fooling the people of Punjab, in an attempt to divert public attention from their own failures. He called upon Captain Amrinder Singh to cut procedural delays, take speedy action against culprits of desecration and unprovoked firing.

Dr Dharamvira also demanded that Punjab government should take immediate steps to decriminalize and depoliticise Punjab police in the light of the recommendation of Parkash Singh Committee and Supreme Court of India and to the sentiments of the people of Punjab to make it a professional force subservient to the people

Dr Dharamvira warned Congress party to desist from following Shromani Akali Dal’s path of political interference in the religious affairs of Sikh religion and institutions. It is an unethical and disastrous path and every political outfit should shun and let Sikh panth and its religious organisations be managed by Sikh religious leaders, intellectuals, thinkers, philosophers and historians as per Sikh tenets and traditions, without political interference of any sort.
