RGMC elections-8.36 percent voters rejected candidates who contested elections

Today, the counting of votes of Rajindra Gymkhana and Mahendra Club, Patiala begins in the morning, for which the voting was held yesterday. 1829 out of 2850 members had polled their votes.
The club had gone for poll yesterday to elect its new executive body comprising president, honorary secretary, joint secretary, treasurer and seven executive members.
RGMC club remained in news from the day one, till the voting day, all for wrong reasons.
The club members who had voted yesterday, showed their disinterest in the members who fought elections for the post of president, honorary secretary, joint secretary, treasurer.
As there is no option of โnone of the aboveโ (NOTA) option (a ballot option in some jurisdictions or organizations, designed to allow the voter to indicate disapproval of the candidates in a voting system) for members in the club elections, the members rejected both the candidates, electing for the posts of president, honorary secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer. Out of 1829 votes polled, 153 votes were declared cancelled, which comes out to be 8.36 percent of the total votes polled.
RGMC elections-8.36 percent voters rejected candidates who contested elections. For the post of president, out of 1829 polled votes, Deepak Kampani got 1114 votes where as his competitor Vikas Puri got 678 votes. 37 votes declared cancelled.
For the post of honorary secretary, out of 1829 polled votes, Harpreet Singh Sandhu got 1067 votes where as his competitor Vinod Kumar Sharma got 747 votes.15 votes declared cancelled.
For the post of joint secretary, out of 1829 polled votes, Adv. Sherbir Singh got 1067 votes where as his competitor Rahul Mehta got 718 votes.48 votes declared cancelled.
For the post of treasurer, out of 1829 polled votes, Gurmukh Singh Dhillon got 931 votes where as his competitor Avinash Gupta got 845 votes.53 votes declared cancelled.
Among the elected seven executive members CA Rohit Gupta got 1282 votes, Adv Mayank Malhotra got 1187, Pardeep Kumar Singla also got 1187,Sarvdeep Singh Sethi got 1132, Deepak Bansal Dakala got 1130, Jatin Mittal got 1083, Sanjay Aggarwal got 1030 votes. Whereas the remaining two candidates who fought elections for executive members, Pawan Kumar Nagrath got 761 votes and Jashan got 752 votes.
