SAD’s youth leader shot dead in Mohali

In a broad daylight murder, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera was shot dead in Mohali on Saturday.

As per initial reports, four armed men fired around 10 bullets at the young leader at around 10.30 am before fleeing the spot.

As per the video footage, he came from a residence and going to start his vehicle, when two youths came and started firing at him. He tried to run away from the spot but the assailants fired more bullets at him. Middukhera had come to meet his friend in an SUV.

He was taken to hospital in a PCR van from the spot. Empty shells have been recovered from the spot. Police are scanning the CCTV footage from the area.

Taking immediate action, the police have sealed the borders of Chandigarh and Panchkula including Mohali. Every visitor is being verified. It is allowed to go only after verification. The CCTV footage has also been made viral on social media by the police.

According to sources, the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is coming out in the case. Vicky had a licensed pistol, but the incident at the time did not get a chance to remove it. Because the accused were hurling bullets at him. As soon as Vicky opened the car gate and went to sit inside, the accused opened fire. When Vicky ran from there, the accused followed and fired continuously. Due to which Vicky did not get a chance to take out his pistol.

Middukhera was a student leader and was once president of Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU), Panjab University, Chandigarh. Later, he joined the SAD’s student wing Student Organisation of India (SOI).

Following his mass appeal among the youth, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal had made him president of SOI’s Chandigarh unit. He actively campaigned for the SAD in the Assembly and parliamentary elections in Punjab.

He had got married two years ago and was close to a number of MLAs in Punjab and Haryana.
