SDM Patiala transferred on complaint of MLA

Punjab Govt on Tuesday late night transferred Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Patiala Ravinder Singh Arora on alleged bribery charges. In a Patiala district grievances redressal meeting held in Patiala under the supervision of Cabinet Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, MLA Rajpura Hardial Singh Kamboj leveled bribery charges against SDM Patiala Ravinder Singh Arora. Besides Deputy Commissioner, SSP, SDM’s, head of other departments, MLA’s were also present in the monthly grievances redressal meeting.
MLA Rajpura hardial Singh Kamboj alleged that “SDM Patiala has demanded money for a work of a Dera. He also said that he has a recording of the conversation,in which SDM is demanding money’
Later SDM got transfer orders and directed to report to Department of Personnel, Government of Punjab, immediately. As per the orders, “Deputy Commissioner Patiala will make internal arrangement for the disposal of work of the Sub divisional magistrate Patiala, till such time alternative arrangements are made”.
Later unruly scene were also witnessed in the district grievances redressal, meeting when sanour MLA Harinder Singh Chandumajra remarked about rampant drug issue in the district. All other Patiala district MLA’s opposed Chandumajra over the drugs issue in Patiala or in his constituency.
