Setting up of Punjab State General Category Commission welcomed-Dhaliwal

The various leaders of the General Category Welfare Federation welcomed the setting up of Punjab State Commission for General Category by the Punjab government. The prompt appointment of Navjot Dahiya is a welcome step by the government, which is sincere in its commitment.
In a statement Shyam Lal Sharma Chief Organiser, Jaswant Singh Dhaliwal State President, Jagdish Singla Press Secretary, V K Gupta Spokesperson, Kuljit Singh Rataul, President PSEB unit, Sukhbirpaul Singh President and Jagdish Singh Punjabi University, Narinser Kathuria, Ashok Chopra, Shaimlal Agarwal Sabha said that the federation thanks Punjab Chief Minister for this bold decision while his predecessors always agreed to the demand of the federation but did not dare to decide because of repercussions.
V K Gupta said that setting up the commission was a long-standing demand of employees belonging to general categories (unreserved classes) as their interests were not being protected. The commission would go a long way in safeguarding the interests of the unreserved classes, besides effective implementation of various welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor.
