Sr Citizen,Women to get preference in PUDA residential schemes-Bajwa

In the festival season ahead, PUDA is coming up with a residential scheme for allotment of 74 residential plots at Nirvana Estate, Bathinda. The scheme would start on October 10, 2018 and would close on November 13, 2018. Plots in the scheme would be offered at reserve price of Rs. 23,100/- per sq. yd (Rs. 27,628/- per sq. mt.).
Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Housing & Urban Development Minister stated that similar to the schemes launched recently in Patiala, Mohali and Gurdaspur, in the present scheme also preference in allotment of plots shall be given to the senior citizens (attaining the age of 60 years on the last date of submission of application) followed by women applicants. Although, there would be a condition that only those would be eligible to apply in the preferential category who earlier do not possess any plot/house anywhere in the country. Purpose of introducing preferential allotment in the scheme is to provide respect and dignity to senior citizens & women, said Bajwa.
Vini Mahajan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, Department revealed that while the applicants would be paying 10% price of the plot at the time of submitting applications, they would have to pay next installment of 15% within 30 days of issuance of allotment letter. For paying the balance 75% amount, the allottee would have the option to make payment in 7 half yearly equated installments alongwith interest @ 12% per annum or paying it in lump-sum to avail rebate of 5%.
Allottees would be given possession of their plots within 90 days from the date of issuance of allotment letter and they would be required to undertake construction on the plot within 3 years from the date of possession after getting the building plan sanctioned from the Estate Office. Various banks have been associated to facilitate the sale & receipt of application forms of the scheme.
