SSP suspended in Punjab

Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered the suspension of Dr Ravjot Kaur Grewal, SSP, Tarn Taran with immediate effect.
The election commission has asked the Commission of Police Amritsar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar to look after the addition charge of SSP, Tarn Taran.
As per reports, the SSP is suspended on the complaint of Akali Dal. The decision was taken after the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) delegation, led by Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler from the party’s legal wing, met Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Punjab and submitted a formal complaint against SSP Grewal.
Ravjot Grewal, IPS had become the first woman officer to join the border district of Punjab as SSP Tarn Taran on September 11,2025. She was the seventh SSP of Tarn Taran in the present around three and a half years of AAP government.
