Sukhbir Badal is not going to attend today’s SIT hearing

As per available information, shiromani akali dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal is not going to attend today’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) hearing at Chandigarh.
The Punjab Police special investigation team (SIT) probing the post-sacrilege police firing incident at Kotkapura in 2015 has summoned former deputy chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal to appear on August 30 for questioning.
As per akali dal sources, the said summon issued by SIT has not been received by Sukhbir Singh Badal and the same has been intimated to the SIT.
Moreover, as per available information, Sukhbir Singh Badal is going to Zira to attend a court hearing in another case.
Sukhbir Badal, who was the deputy chief minister and home minister when the Kotkapura firing took place, has been asked to appear with the relevant records before the SIT , in connection with two first information reports (FIRs) registered at the Kotkapura city police station on October 14, 2015, and August 7, 2018.
The SIT led by ADGP LK Yadav had summoned Badal for questioning to Punjab Police Officers Institute, Sector 32, Chandigarh, at 10.30am on Tuesday.
