Tarn Taran police cracked blind murder case of SGPC employee

The Tarn Taran district police solved the mystery of a two year old blind murder of Gurmej Singh, a SGPC employee and a resident of SGPC quarter, Narudi Adda, near Nawi Sra, who was killed in Bucherke village on June 25,2019 and arrested the accused.
The deceased, identified as Gurmej Singh was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the road side of village Bucherke ,on main road , from Tarn Taran to Goindwal sahib. The local city police had registered a case under Section 302, 34, 120 B of the IPC and 25/27/ 54/59 of the Arms Act on the statement of Manjinder Singh, nephew (Bhanja) of the deceased.
Tarn Taran Senior superintendent of police, Dhruman H Nimbale IPS, entrusted the initial enquiry to the City Police Station SHO Chander Bhushan . He got a clue that some schoolmates of the daughter of the deceased Gurmej Singh, might have done this crime. Later the investigation is shifted to the CIA Tarn Taran wing. Later the SSP handed over the investigation to the DSP (Investigation) Kamaljit Singh, PPS.
On April 5,2021 , the DSP (Investigation) got a secret information about the whereabouts of the accused Jashanpreet Singh alias Jashan, a resident of village Narudi. After that the police team raided the premises, where he was staying and arrested the accused. The police also recovered the weapon used in the crime.
Tarn Taran police cracked blind murder case of SGPC employee. The SSP said the accused while confessing his crime said “he likes the deceased Gurmej Singh’s daughter and wants to marry her. It’s a one sided affair. Gurmej Singh and his nephew Manjinder Singh were against this and had beaten him. So, I want to take the revenge and did the crime.”
