Thapar Institute’s achievement in NIRF Rankings 2023 speaks volumes

In the NIRF Rankings 2023, the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) has emerged as the leading institution in the Engineering category in Northern India. It has secured the 20th rank in the Engineering category and holds the top position in the Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir region. Only IIT Delhi surpasses TIET in the engineering category in the region within the NIRF 2023 rankings.
Additionally, TIET has achieved 22nd rank in University category and holds the second position in the region. TIET has also secured 34th in Research category, 49th in Management category, and 40th in Overall category.
Dr. Padmakumar Nair, the Director of TIET, expressed that these consistent high rankings not only demonstrate TIET’s prominence in North India but also establish it as a preferred choice for engineering aspirants nationwide. These rankings reflect TIET’s exceptional performance in various fields, showcasing its commitment to academic excellence, research, and comprehensive growth. The institution is actively working on all aspects of the NIRF parameters, aiming to enhance the faculty-student ratio, research output, and placements, while making the optimum utilization of available resources. Dr. Nair emphasized that TIET’s rankings have been consistently improving each year, which can be attributed to the institution’s unwavering dedication to excellence in all areas. By adopting an outcome-based, experiential, self-directed, and project-led approach to learning, along with a strong emphasis on research, TIET aims to accomplish even greater achievements in the years to come.
