Two day national mourning declares in India

As per available information, the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi has announced two days of national mourning- April 26 and 27,2023, on the demise of former chief minister of Punjab and Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal, the central government.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow on the passing away of the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal.
“Extremely saddened by the passing away of Shri Parkash Singh Badal Ji. He was a colossal figure of Indian politics, and a remarkable statesman who contributed greatly to our nation. He worked tirelessly for the progress of Punjab and anchored the state through critical times.
Shri Parkash Singh Badal’s passing away is a personal loss for me. I have interacted closely with him for many decades and learnt so much from him. I recall our numerous conversations, in which his wisdom was always clearly seen. Condolences to his family and countless admirers.”
The veteran leader and Padma Vibhushan awardee Parkash Singh Badal who passed away, few hours ago was 95 years of age.
Two day national mourning declares in India . National mourning is a symbolic gesture to pay tribute and express grief for a national tragedy. It is also a means of honouring a person of particular significance who has recently passed away.
National mourning is declared by the union government. Similarly, state governments can declare state mourning day in their respective states.
Flag code during national mourning
The flag shall be half-masted throughout the period of mourning in India.
Half-masting of the flag will be governed by special instructions which will be issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
If mourning were to be observed in a parade or procession where a flag is carried, two streamers of black crepe shall be attached to the spearhead, allowing the streamers to fall naturally. The use of black crepe in such a manner shall be only by an order of the Government.
When flown at half-mast, the flag shall be hoisted to the peak for an instant, then lowered to the half-mast position, but before lowering the Flag for the day, it shall be raised again to the peak.
