Veteran Army officers celebrated INDO-PAK war 1971 Golden Jubilee Celebrations

On behalf of Raja Malvinder Singh, Indo-Pak 1971 War Golden Jubilee was observed in the Capt Amarinder Singh Auditorium of Yadavindra Public School, Patiala on Sunday, December 5, 2021. The august gathering included the Veterans from Patiala, Chandigarh, Ambala, Nabha, Sangrur and the serving officers of 1 Armoured Division with the ladies.
The event went underway with the opening remarks by Raja Malvinder Singh, Chairperson Yadavindra Public School, Patiala. It was followed by an awe-inspiring oration by the decorated army men about the strategic aspects of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Prelude to the war was covered by a virtual interview of Mr. Satinder K Lambah by Mr. Aftab Seth, both from the Foreign Service. Mr. Lambah was looking after the American Division in the MEA during the 1971 War. Brig Sukhjit Singh(Retd),MVCand Lt Gen TK Sapru(Retd), PVSM, YSM shared their experiences and the challenges of the battle fought on the Western and Eastern Front. Lt Gen GS Sihota(Retd) ,PVSM, AVSM,VrC,VM recalled and shared the story of resilience of our soldiers during the triumphant Race for Dhaka, the centre of gravity.
Adding more thrill and patriotism, Air Marshal R Nambiar(Retd),PVSM,AVSM, SM* and Cdr Vijai P.Kapil(Retd),VrC,NM(G) shed some light on the heroic deeds and role played by Indian Air Force and Indian Navy respectively. The summing up of the proceedings by Lt Gen Depinder Singh(Retd), PVSM,VSM left an everlasting mpact on the audience. The proceedings were anchored by Brig D S Grewal (Retd) and co-ordinated by Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma(Retd), VSM.
Veteran Army officers celebrated INDO-PAK war 1971 Golden Jubilee Celebrations. This celebration was an effort to recognise and honour the bravery of Indian Armed Forces during the Indo-Pak 1971 war and to pay tribute to all those soldiers who have laid their lives guarding the Nation during various battles.
