Gharam, a village of Sanour constituency will be developed as an Adarsh (Model) village. To access the works which have to be completed here, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, along with other officials visited the village and discussed all the possibilities to make the historic and heritage village Gharam a model village. DC held a meeting with the officials including the residents of the village to draft a proposal for the development works to be done in this village.

The Deputy Commissioner said that due to the special initiative of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the continuous efforts of local MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, efforts are being made to make Gharama an Adarsh village.

Sakshi Sawhney, in a meeting with the local residents and officials, discussed the proposal of connecting road in the name of Lord Ram ji, solar lighting, a welcome gate, a plantation of saplings, a dispensary and Aam Aadmi clinic, beautification, sewage treatment plant. , ground water recharging, common water tank, pond renovation with seechewal model, gym and playground, school and anganwadi centre upgradation, community centre, cow shed, biogas plant, tourism centre, solar park, solar cold storage system, drip irrigation, mound maintenance, upgradation of schools etc.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the connection of the village Gharam is linked with Shri Ram Chandra ji’s mother Kaushalya. While Pir Baba Bhikham Shah also made his abode at the 450-year-old Dargah Sharif Pir Bhikhan Shah Miran Ji and it was here at the historical Gurdwara Bauli Sahib (Milapsar) that he met Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1702 AD. The temple of Mata Kaushalya Devi and Patelshwar Temple was also located here, which is very popular among devotees.
