World Pharmacist Day Celebrated at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhaddal

World Pharmacist Day was celebrated at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhaddal, under the leadership of Dr. Preet Kawal Kaur, Principal of the Institute. The celebration included competitions such as speeches, essays, posters and Q&A sessions. Dr. Ashwani Dhiman, Medical Director of The Healing Groove – Chandigarh Multispecialty Hospital, Ropar, attended the event as the chief guest.

The program began with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Preet Kawal Kaur, who extended a warm greeting to the chief guest, faculty, staff and students. She highlighted the significance of the day, explaining that it marks the formation of the International Federation of Pharmacists, which now connects many institutions and individuals providing healthcare services.

In his address, chief guest Dr. Ashwani Dhiman spoke about this year’s theme, “Think Health – Think Pharmacist”, and shared detailed information with staff and students about the role, responsibilities and contributions of pharmacists in human life and the healthcare system. Following this, Dr. Chetna Kotwal an Ayurveda Expert from Chandigarh Multispecialty Hospital, delivered a guest lecture.

The campus Registrar-cum-Director, Dr. S.S. Bindra, extended greetings to the staff and students on World Pharmacist Day and informed them that, following the directions of the Institute’s Chairman Tejinder Singh, a free health check-up camp dedicated to World Pharmacist Day was organized at the Gurdwara Sahib in Village Mianpur, in collaboration with Chandigarh Multispecialty Hospital, Ropar. Expert doctors in ophthalmology, Dental, Medicine, Gynecology, and other fields provided free services, benefiting the local residents.

Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Group Director – Academics, announced that an MoU was signed today between the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhaddal, and Chandigarh Multispecialty Hospital, Ropar.

Dr. S.S. Bindra, Registrar-cum-Director of the campus, presented a memento to Dr. Dhiman and honored the winners of various competitions. He also praised Dr. Preet Kawal Kaur, Principal of the Pharmacy College and the entire staff for making the program and free health check-up camp successful.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Associate Professor Ishani of the Pharmacy College, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to chief guest Dr. Ashwani Dhiman and his team. Stage management was efficiently handled by Monika Kashyap and Nitika Sharma.

Other dignitaries present included Dr. Kanchan Sharma, Principal – Vocational Studies and Dr. Taranjeet Kaur, Dean – Research.
