YPS Patiala celebrated 74th annual sports day with enthusiasm, fervor

Yadavindra Public School, Patiala celebrated the 74th Annual Sports Day on Saturday, November 12. Around 1300 students participated to mark YPS at 75. The YPS board of Governors, the parents of all the students and the alumni of the Golden and Silver jubilee batches witnessed this Platinum year celebrations of the school.
The celebrations commenced with an arrival and welcome of the Chief Guest Dr. Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster, Doon School, Dehradun and Chairman, Indian Public Schools’ Conference. The students of X-XII saluted the chief guest in a steady and synchronised impressive march past, coupled with the rousing march music by the school Pipe band. The ceremonial flame was lit by the four best athletes of the school.
An oath taking ceremony was administered by the school Head boy. Around 1300 students (Foundation, Junior, Middle wing) challenged their fitness levels and displayed a perfect amalgamation of fit body and mind in various zestful events like Aerobics and PT. The Gymnastics and Yoga students showcased their utmost flexibility in a well synchronised display. The final rounds of various inter-house Athletic events were also held, finally deciding the winning house of the year.
Following the tradition, the Golden and Silver Jubilee batches of 1972 and 1996 also re-lived their school memories of the school track while participating in the races. The unmatched energy of the alumni batches raised the level of enthusiasm in the stadium.
YPS Patiala celebrated 74th annual sports day with enthusiasm, fervor. The esteemed chief guest awarded the winners of various sports events in a prize giving ceremony. The chief guest congratulated everyone for the great achievement and also appreciated the wonderful performances by the students.
The Sports day not just commemorates the sporting achievements of the year but also shows the mental and physical strength of the students. All Yadavindrians longingly look forward to this event every year. It is a moment to applaud and motivate the sporting spirit of the children. The mass participation on this day showed the values and ethos of Yadavindra public School.
