The highly anticipated Yuva Sangam Phase 3 flag-off ceremony took place at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT )Ropar today marking the beginning of an exciting cultural exchange program. The event, organized under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative, aims to provide exposure tours to students from higher educational institutes and off-campus youngsters across the nation.

Through a selection process conducted by  IIT Ropar, 45 students have been chosen to travel to the state of Karnataka as cultural envoys. The students will be staying at the IIT Dharwad campus, where they will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Karnataka’s rich heritage and cultural diversity. The journey is set to start on November 28th, with the return journey at IIT Ropar on December 8th. During their visit, the students will explore various historical and cultural landmarks, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hampi, Akshay Patra. Another highlight of the itinerary is a trip to Badami, formerly known as Vatapi, which showcases the distinct architectural and structural culture of Karnataka. Cumulatively, the Yuva Sangam Phase 3 event aims to provide a platform for young minds to foster cultural understanding and exchange ideas, while being aware of the rich and diverse heritage of different parts of the country.

In his  opening speech today, Professor Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar, described the initiative as a groundbreaking step towards fostering cultural exchange. Unique and timely in its approach, Yuva Sangam Phase 3 focuses on encouraging students  to embrace and learn from the diverse cultural heritage of different states. Professor Ahuja ended his speech by praising the endeavour by the Government and wishing the participants the very best of luck

At the flag off ceremony today, Dinesh Chadda, MLA of the Rupnagar Assembly constituency participated as  the chief guest.  He kickstarted the event by flagging off the program. In his speech, Chaddha noted the immense promise of the initiative as a transformative experience for the participants. He also described the event of  IIT Ropar’s  selection as the nodal institute for this important responsibility as a matter of great pride.
