70th annual academic day marked in YPS Patiala

Yadavindra Public School, Patiala celebrated its 70th Annual Academic Day with an immense pride and gratification on Saturday, August 10. All the students and teachers foregathered to celebrate the success of the students.
Vijay Inder Singla, PWD and Education Minister of Punjab was the esteemed chief guest of the occasion. The board members of the school, some eminent personalities of the city and proud parents of the achievers were also present at the occasion.
The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest. The flame was lit with the hope to enlighten the path for all the young achievers and aspirants.
The prayer song sung by the school choir gave a zestful start to the further ceremonies. An annual academic report of the school was read out by the prefects. Following that, YPS Director, Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma emphasised on the overall development and growth of a child and expressed his pride and contentment during his speech. “Awards and accreditation are the motivation force for the students to shine. These are the result of collective efforts and team work. We are proud of what we have achieved in past 70 years, what we stand for and what we believe in.”, said Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma.
The chief guest Vijay Inder Singla, who is also an old student of YPS, felicitated the go-getters and the best performers of the academic year 2018-19. He congratulated the students for their achievements and exhorted all the students to be good and responsible citizens and always be thankful and respectful towards their teachers.
The chief guest also appreciated the art exhibition put up by the school art students after the function.
The group song sung by school choir and the mesmerizing Flamingo dance were other major highlights of the event.
Academic day marks the celebration of the accomplishments of the students and the staff members who put in their best efforts and hard work to reach their goals. It brings together all the academic community of the school which helped raise up the performance graph of the students.
