IIT Ropar Celebrates International Women’s Day with an Engaging Sessions

The Women Forum at IIT Ropar is celebrating International Women’s Day with a week-long series of events from March 7th to March 12th, 2025, focusing on empowerment, well-being, and gender inclusivity. As part of the celebrations, on the fourth day, the institute hosted an insightful session by Riri G Trivedi, a distinguished expert in mental health and positive parenting. Her talk, titled “Juggling Jobs & Juice Boxes: The Work-Life Balance Act,” focused on understanding the impact of stress on the nervous system and effective techniques to regulate it.
During the session, Riri G Trivedi delved into the science of stress, explaining how a dysregulated nervous system affects mental and physical well-being. She engaged the audience in practical exercises, including humming, chanting, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFTs)—proven methods to reduce stress, enhance focus, and restore balance in daily life. The interactive session allowed participants, including students, faculty, and professionals, to experience firsthand the power of these techniques. The session not only provided valuable tools for managing stress but also reinforced the importance of self-care in achieving work-life harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neha Sardana , Chairperson Women Forum Committee from IIT Ropar highlighted the importance of such discussions in promoting a healthier and more inclusive academic and professional environment. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants shared their experiences and received expert guidance from Trivedi.
