Patiala is one of the important districts of not only Punjab but of India as it remained a princely state and the city has worldwide recognition due to its history.
“Patiala” is frequently searched in search engines like Google. Not only NRI’s but People residing out of Patiala or even residents of Patiala search district administration or Patiala police to find information about officers posted in district administration, in Patiala police, including its history, attractions, and other related topics.
But, unfortunately the Patiala district administration and Patiala police fail to update them digitally.
The websites of both-Patiala district administration (https://patiala.nic.in/about-district/whos-who/) and Patiala police (https://patiala.punjabpolice.gov.in/) are showing the outdated, old information which gives wrong impression in the minds of general public.
This can be judged from the Patiala district administration website which still shows Daljit Singh Mangat as divisional commissioner, Patiala where as Vinay Bublani ,IAS has already joined as divisional commissioner, Patiala on April 25,2025.
Not only this, the district administration website only shows the name, photo contact of commissioner Patiala Division and DC Patiala . No other officers of Patiala administration like SDMs, RTO, DDPO, DFSC, CMO, DEO, DRO etc have any contact details or names on the official district administration website. Even the other key in formations about the district are not updated.
Similarly, the website of Patiala police are not update. As per Patiala police website Nanak Singh is the SSP of Patiala whereas he has been asked to look after the charge of DIG Patiala range and Varun Sharma has been deputed as SSP Patiala on May 3,2025.
Even Patiala police website doesn’t show the names, contacts of other police officers/ officials posted in the district and other important information which may prove helpful for the general public.
Patiala’s district administration, Police lags behind digitally in today’s digital era. When contacted Sanjeev, the district incharge of National Information Centre (NIC) he said “we at NIC are technically handling the Patiala district administration website. The content is owned by the administration. They can also update, change the content, upload any information at their own level. Moreover if they asked us to do, we do it as per their requirement.”
He further added that Patiala police website is not maintained by Patiala NIC in any way. The police has its own team, data centre to manage its website.
