After the matter of “official websites of both-Patiala district administration (https://patiala.nic.in/about-district/whos-who/) and Patiala police (https://patiala.punjabpolice.gov.in/) are showing the outdated, old information , photos of already changed officers and websites still publicizing the development work done by the previous SAD-BJP-Congress governments in the district on May 14 and May 17,2025 on News Portal www.royalpatiala.in, acting swiftly and to avoid govt wrath the Patiala district administration removed the heading of Development stories highlighting the development done by SAD-BJP-Congress governments and instead added the Directory and RTI column in the heading.
After the issue was highlighted in these columns, the administration changed the photo of already transferred commissioner Patiala division and uploaded the new commissioner Patiala division’s photo . Similarly, the Patiala police has also changed the photograph of old SSP Nanak Singh and uploaded Varun Sharma’s photo.
But, the official website of Patiala district administration and Patiala police still failed to show the list of officers posting in the district. Both civil and police department websites are showing the half baked information.
Sumit, a local resident said “its good that the civil and police administration has acted swiftly and done a face saving exercise by changing the photographs of already transferred officers with the new incumbents. But, now they must update their department websites so that it can give accurate information to the public. They must also update the officers’ names that are posted in district Patiala for public information.”

Both the civil administration and Patiala police have a dedicated team to timely upload the information on their websites but unfortunately both the Patiala district administration and Patiala police fail to update them digitally.
