Open-Air Gym Inaugurated at Panjab University, dedicated to residents through MP Fund

A new open-air gym was inaugurated today at Panjab University by Member of Parliament Manish Tewari in a program organized by local area Councillor Sachin Galav. The initiative aims to promote health and fitness among students and nearby residents. The gym has been developed under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) Scheme, reflecting a strong commitment to public health infrastructure.

Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky and Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig were also present and joined MP Tewari in dedicating the facility to the community. A tree plantation drive was held as part of the event, symbolizing sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

In his address, MP Manish Tewari said: “I am truly pleased to see developmental works being carried out in public interest through the MPLAD fund. Establishing an open-air gym at a premier academic institution will benefit not only students but also residents from surrounding areas. I congratulate Councillor Sachin Galav for this initiative and thank Panjab University for their cooperation. This project reflects our vision for a healthy and progressive community.”

Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky added: “The Congress party has always supported development works that directly impact people’s lives. Whether youth, students, or senior citizens – fitness facilities should be accessible to all.
