IIT Ropar’s Autonomous Weather Station awarded by CSR Universe Social Impact Award 2025 at IIC Delhi

IIT Ropar ANNAM.AI Foundation under the Ministry of Education has been awarded the Social Impact Award 2025 in the Technology & Artificial Intelligence for Social Good category at the 5th Social Impact Conference & Awards (SICA’2025), held at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
The recognition was conferred for the project, “Autonomous Weather Station (AWS): Smart Climate Monitoring Solution”, which was nominated under the Technology & Artificial Intelligence for Social Good category. The project is designed to empower farmers with real-time, localized weather data and AI-driven insights, enhancing decision-making to mitigate climate risks and adopt sustainable agricultural practices. The award recognizes IIT Ropar’s innovative work in developing the Autonomous Weather Station (AWS), a deep-tech solution that provides hyperlocal weather data, predictive analytics, and AI-driven decision support. By addressing challenges of climate variability and resource optimization, AWS is helping farmers transition towards smart, sustainable, and climate-resilient agriculture.
Themed “Impact 2.0: Scaling India’s Next Wave of Progress”, SICA’25 showcased the convergence of technology, partnerships, and innovative financing to accelerate inclusive and sustainable social development. The conference brought together 80+ eminent speakers and industry leaders, along with 10+ Members of Parliament from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, who participated in a special Policy Panel.
It further featured 10+ thought-provoking keynotes, panel discussions, spotlight talks, and impact sessions, as well as 20+ exhibitors and partners, and welcomed over 200 delegates. The event culminated with an Awards Ceremony that honored organizations, philanthropists, and individuals driving meaningful social change.
SICA 2025 recognition affirms that “innovations like the Autonomous Weather Station can power inclusive growth, sustainability, and positive societal transformation.”
