One Sky, Two Flags: India to Hoist UN and National Flags Together on October 24

In its order dated October 14, 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has instructed all States and Union Territories to ceremoniously hoist the United Nations Flag alongside the Indian National Flag on all government buildings where the National Flag is regularly flown, in observance of United Nations Day on October 24, 2025.
As per the orders issued by Under secretary, Home ministry, Govt of India ,“Every year 24th October is observed as the United Nations Day. On this day, the United Nations Flag is flown along with the National Flag on all buildings on which the Indian National Flag is regularly flown. The United Nations Flag is, however, NOT flown on Raj Bhawans/Raj Niwases and buildings housing Legislative Councils, Legislative Assemblies and High Courts.”
