Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) management has decided to immediately withdraw the show-cause notice issued on November 13, 2025, to Chief Engineer, ARR & TR, PSPCL, Er. Harmohan Kaur.
On Wednesday morning, members and staff of the PSPCL Engineers Association reached the office of Director Finance, S. K. Beri, and pointed out that the show-cause notice issued to the chief engineer was not in accordance with the rules. The management initially showed reluctance to withdraw the order, prompting the engineers to stage a ‘dharna’ inside his office until the “flawed” order was revoked.
After the matter was highlighted by News Portal royalpatiala.in in these columns, the Powercom management swung into action. Within a few hours, the management decided to withdraw the show-cause notice. CMD Basant Garg, IAS, announced the decision at a press conference in Chandigarh.
Garg stated, “The Engineers Association raised objections over the issue, pointing out that the decision should have been taken by the WTD. Therefore, we are withdrawing the show-cause notice issued to her.”
Earlier, the show-cause notice had been issued to Harmohan Kaur on November 17, 2025, for allegedly failing to join duty after her leave request was not sanctioned.
Kaur had initially availed a half-day leave on November 4, 2025, to attend a Nagar Kirtan. On the same day, she applied for earned leave from November 6 to November 21, 2025, citing urgent personal work at home. Her request was rejected by the authorities, following which she proceeded on leave by changing the reason to medical leave.

Earlier the spokesperson of PSEBEA had said “we are being forced into the path of struggle and creating unsatisfactory environment in the department.”
