Professional Photography Workshop : Photography skills can be developed with dedication: Expert

Department of Zoology and Environmental Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala in collaboration with Zoological and Environmental Society organized a Professional Photography Workshop on 22-11-2025.
The programme began with the welcome address of Dr. Onkar Singh Brraich, Convener and Head, Department of Zoology and Environmental Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala. He said that photography is an integral part in the field of zoology and wildlife. Students need to learn intricacies of the photography skills during this workshop.
He further said that photographic competition will be held in the department to encourage the students towards photography. Dr. Jeesu Jaskanwar Singh, a zoologist, teacher educator and Wiildlife photographer from Panjab University, Chandigarh an eminent expert delivered his talk on the topic “Professional Photography”.
In his talk, he typically emphasizes several core skill areas like understanding exposure: aperture, shutter speed, ISO. He further told about how different lenses affect perspective and depth, shooting confidently in manual mode, managing visual balance and eliminating distractions using color and contrast intentionally.
Under Lighting Skills: He told about how to read natural light and predicting how it changes using artificial light. He also explained about evolution of cameras to the students. Vice Chancellor Prof. Jagdeep Singh conveyed his best wishes to the department for organizing this workshop.
Dr. Meenakshi Bharti, Organizing Secretary conducted the stage. Prof. Haminder Bharti also present on the occasion. Dr. Abhinav Saxena, Assistant Profession introduced the expert to audience. Dr. Dalveer Singh, Assistant Professor proposed vote of thanks.
About 110 students, faculty members, research scholars and non teaching staff from Department of Zoology and Environmental Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala took part in this workshop.
